CATEGORIES & PROJECT INFORMATION
The Atlanta Public Schools Technology & Innovation Competition is a regional competition for the Georgia Student Technology Competition (GaSTC). All first place winner automatically advance to the state technology competition.
Students may compete in 15 different categories: 3D Modeling, Animation, Audio Production, Device Modification, Digital Game Design, Digital Photo Production, Graphic Design, Internet Applications, Mobile Apps, Multimedia Applications, Productivity Design, Programming Challenge (Grades 7-12 only), Project Programming, Robotics, and Video Production. Category information and associated rubrics can be accessed using the right-side menu. Project Information Each project must be unique and cannot be entered in more than one category. Students may participate in one (1) project. A team may submit a project. Per state rules, each team has a maximum of two members. Projects are to be designed and created by students. Some adult guidance is allowed, but it must be clear that all work entered by students was done by the students. Students should create a document that cites both student produced and non-student produced material used in the project. Written permissions for all non-student created content must be provided. Registration is open until January 20, 2021. Official registration will be completed by each school's Educational Technology Specialist. Schools may register up to two (2) projects in each grade level category. Example: A Middle School may register up to 2 Animation projects in grade level division 5-6 and up to 2 Animation projects in grade level division 7-8. The grade level divisions are:
